CHIQUOLA MILL MASSACRE

1700's
The first settlers arrived in Honea Path during the late 18th century. The first school was built by 1810.
1903
The building of the Chiquola Mill was started in 1903. It included four stories and 83,200 square feet.
1934
Honea Path workers joined the General Textile strike which initiated and performed several mill strikes across the USA. The Chiquola Mill strike resulted in seven deaths.
